I go here fairly regularly because this place does it up right. It's not a huge place and gets packed fairly easily, so there have been times when I simply haven't gotten in, but you snooze you lose. It is in an old victorian style home, taking up both floors. Downstairs seats a few tables and the main bar, while upstairs hosts a more casual atmosphere of games, chairs, etc....like you are in someones home. Decor is eclectic and funky, provides a nice touch to the visit. Service is always good to above average, the staff are trained well, know their beers well enough, and are always smiling. I've eaten here too many times to mention, but the wings are great, as is the cajun catfish sandwich. The wings are a great portion and the sauces are excellent. The catfish sandwich is spicy,savoury, very flavourful, well portioned, and well priced. I like that they have Boneshaker on tap on a regular basis. In fact, they only serve craft beer which speaks to the quality of the establishment. Clientele is a mix of somewhat obnoxious college hipsters and hippies that think they are re-living Woodstock for some reason, but I don't have to like them to like the place. Keep up the great work! So, good. The food was delicious, though not gastro-pubby, but rather pub grub. It could use new carpeting throughout. The stand out for us was the service. Our server was helpful, knew the menu inside out, and when we asked for some changes to make one of the meals heart healthy they went out of their way to make it happen. We were seated in a quiet corner...easier for my Dad that he didn't have to climb up a step...but there was loud laughter coming from around the corner. Everyone seemed to be greeted by name at the door. Our server was a nice young girl, but everyone paid attention to us, helping to deliver the meal, checking on how we liked our meals. I worked all through college as a waitress, and I am kind of picky about service attitude, and this was wonderful. Lire plus

I came to this restaurant for my father's birthday and the food was incredible. It is an authetic portuguese restaurant on James street in Hamilton. For an appetizer we had the Bruchetta, which is baked pizza style bread topped with tomato, onion and garlic. Yumm! For the dish I ate the Filete com arroz, which is fish filete with seafood rice. The dish cost $17 but was really cheap considering the amount of food that was provided. I will definetely return to this restaurant and recommend anyone to try this place. They have a large menu with many options. If you havent tried portuguese food or just love the food, you wont be disappointed at the Wild Orchid. Lire plus

Very authentic Mexican food and atmosphere. My husband and I have been several times, and have always been happy with the food - the quantity as well as the quality. When our daughter and son-in-law came to visit, we took them there, and they were also impressed. I have read the other reviews and am left wondering as we had plenty to eat, with no shortage of meat. The order bar is at the front door. Lots of warm colours with smiling faces that are always patient and help full. For those that can't make up their minds your not hurried or rushed to make purchases. There are exceptions of course. The atmosphere is roomy, with enough space between tables for privacy. If your order is not ready at purchase point then the staff will bring it to you with out the feeling that you need to tip again if you did. Great seating with leather couches. Chairs and tables are far enough apart to have reasonably private conversation. The patio is overlooking the Bay. Hope that you like birds. Parking is walking distance or one minute from entrance. I attended Montana's Cookhouse with my Brother and Girlfriend last week and expected good quality food and service. I expected it because Montanas Cookhouse i widely recognized and I have also attended it before and loved it. I suggest coming here for a dinner or lunch because you receive great food for a low cost. I ordered chicken penne which was 15$ and a coke for 3$, so for under 20$ I received an excellent meal and fast service. The environment is loud and upbeat giving you a fun experience. Lire plus
