I went on Dec. 3rd for their brunch buffet. I had a great experience here for my first time. The food options were decent for a buffet, and it really hit the spot. The service, and atmosphere were great. Friendly, and helpful servers with a clean restaurant. It had a nice family atmosphere with all the Christmas get togethers they had. I go to a lot of brunch places, and in Mississauga there aren't many I'd go to but for a $40 brunch buffet you can't go wrong. Lire plus

Came in on Yelp recommendations to get a quick bite. Turned into a gourmet experience! Margarita- Only had better at an authentic Mexican place in Bradford (MexiCanada). Wonderful traditional flavor and properly made and presented. Dry Rib- Excellent. Wonderful taste, not overwhelming the meat, meat done to perfection. Was told it was more spicy than the wet rib, loved the heat. Had it with a nice Malbec Coleslaw - best I have ever had. The sauce was creamy but light and didn't overwhelm the veg. Very fresh and crunchy. Sweet Potato Fry- done nice and dark (double fried) and still full full of flavor but no grease AT ALL. excellent job. Atmosphere- low key, dim lights and excellent music mix. Easy to slip into an indulgent mode. Very comfortable in the diner decor and the simple bell used to signal the next order being ready. OVERALL - WOW! Will be back. Can't wait for patio season! Good food, good service(slow drink service but I think the waiters are also the bartenders), and great location\atmosphere. Bit of a boring spring menu but anxious to go back and see what they create for summer. Close to Niagara region and lots of wonderful fresh produce and farm products. I recently had lunch (3rd time) at Envers of Morriston, and WOW. What an amazing little secret just south of Guelph. The food was amazing, and watching the Chefs walk out to the garden and get the vegetables and herbs that were going into my food was refreshing. The food was absolutely amazing. My husband and I are so lucky there is a restaurant in Fonthill of the calibre of Zest. It is as good as a "Toronto" fine dining. The service is wonderful from the time you enter the front door, and until you leave. There have been times I've been thrilled with the menu, and other times not so much, but still be able to find something that pleased me well. My only criticism, people who have Celiac disease really get left sitting by the curb. Although at Zest they make an effort for those of us who need a gluten free dinner, other steps could be taken. If there are appetizers that are served with bread, rice crackers could be substituted for gluten free diners. Also, there is a wonderful gluten free bakery in Chipawa, that makes wonder bread and glutten free cakes.They even deliver to Fonthill. I just wish more restaurants would educate themselves in gluten free dining. It's not rocket science, and more people by the day are being diagnosed. When my husband and I want to celebrate, we go to Zest. I'm thinking of holding our 25th Anniversary Party at Zest, and inviting 30 of our friends. I know, Zest would not let us down. Lire plus

Kismet is my go-to place for Indian/Bangladeshi food in Waterloo. I usually get take out because the space is pretty small, and I've never had a problem with the people at the cash. My partner is not a fan of cilantro and they've never given as a problem when we ask for items without. Their naan is the best I've had in Waterloo (Grain of Salt in Cambridge is the only place I've tried with better naan). Much better than the sort of pancakey stuff I've seen at other places *cough*Curry in a Hurry. I really like their aloo gobi, which is potato and caulifower with curry spices. I love the new decor! My husband and I shared the Warm Salad special, which was fantastic. I had the Duo of Duck and my husband tried the special which was Beef Cheek. Both were really, really good. We ordered a nice bottle of wine, which was very reasonably priced. Service was attentive and professional, with just enough friendliness. We will definitely be back. My husband and I have been to Boo's twice. On both occassions we had a wonderful time and meal (as well as wine). The server was extremely gracious and considerate. He came to check on our meal a couple of times, but was not intrusive whatsoever (allowing for an intimate and romantic evening). The food was delicious. The servings were of good size (in our opinion) -- I was very full when I left, as was my husband. We had crab cakes for an appetizer - these were rich in real crab meat with little filler. As for mains, I had a salmon dish (the special) and my husband had Boo's signature dish (a steak). Ingredients were fresh, and there was a nice serving of vegetables (also flavourful and well done). It is a quiet atmosphere and we thoroughly enjoyed our evening. We will definitely go back. Lire plus

My family and I have been patron's of the Charcoal Steakhouse for about 40 years - since it's location on Weber Street where Zhers is now. I was a little girl when we used to go there on Sundays. In recent years, my friends and I attend Martini's for birthdays and other special occasions so I would say between the Charcoal, Martini's and Del Dante's, I attend there for dinner about 6 or 7 times a year (average once every 2 months). The Charcoal has always been my favourite restaurant and I order NOTHING but the "individual meaty ribs" with the brown sugar sauce. I have always been happy that you could order them in Martini's as well. Last night was my birthday, and again my two girlfriend's and I attended Martini's to celebrate. In recent years instead of ordering the rib dinner, I order a French onion soup (the best ever) with 2 of the "individual meaty ribs" (this is how it was stated on the menu). Last night, the ribs came with one bone and was the same size as one rib always was in the past. When I told the waiter I had ordered 2, he said they take out every second bone but you get the meat of both ribs. I advised they had never done that before and the rib (which he said was the meat of two) was the same size as it always was. He got a woman who I assum was a manager and she said "they had always done it that way". My girlfriend and I argued with her saying we had been coming for years and there was always 2 ribs criss-crossed on the plate (2 bones). She said again "they had always done it this way" and then I find out she has only worked there 8 or 9 months (so obviously she had no idea what they had "always done"). I wondered how they did the dinner now as it had always been 6 ribs and my mom and dad split it when they go there (3 each). She said that the dinner is a rack of ribs which is 12 but since every second bone is removed, it looks like 6. Why then had the menu always said "6 individual meaty ribs"? She got the General Manager who offered us an extra rib each and took the item off the bill which was great of him however, I am still concerned with the "new:" presentation on the plate. I don't care what was said (apparently they asked the cook) It was only ONE rib not two. I was told by the waiter that the owner was there and I could talk to him but then was told by the General Manager that he wasn't there. I do appreciate the lengths to which the General Manager went to make my friends and myself happy but if that is what they are doing now, I probably won't order that again as the value for what they call 2 ribs is not worth $7 as it was only a couple of bites. Also, when the reservation was made my girlfriend was asked if it was a special occasion (which they always aske) and they always bring a little desert to share but not this time. As stated this is my favourite restaurant and I hate to complain about it (I have never complaned about it in 40 years) but if this is the chef's decision, someone should talk to him that it really looks like the owners are getting greedy and offering less food for the same price. The inside of this restaurant is quintessential diner. The lady behind the bar was very friendly as was our server. The food came out quickly, hot, and fresh even though it was a busy time of the day. For the price, the sandwich was a little small but given the location so near to Yonge & Dundas I suppose higher prices should be expected. The huevos rancheros came with 2 eggs, a generous amount of black beans, avocado, and chorizo sausage as well as a delicious corn muffin. On the weekend I dropped by because I learned that they had Lugtread Lagered Ale on tap. The hostess said that they were serving Sunday brunch and that sitting at the bar was awkward. However, soon, a waiter brought in a bar stool and soon I was sipping my fave beer on tap. It was a sunny day so the view was great, bartender friendly and as a bonus there was a keyboard player singing a whole host of great songs. Best rib steak ever. Cooked to perfection, but what do you expect at $55 a pop?Allover a good experience. Asked the waiter what was meant by filet-mignon on the bone? He mumbled ( as you should when in doubt) and I never got an intelligent answer. There's tenderloin on the menu as wll and then filet mignon which is tenderloin as well.I spent 50+years in the meat biz, removed thousands of tenderloins but never heard of 'on the bone'...a mystery! Milestones on Brant Street is one of the best restaurants, never mind JUST Milestones that I have been too. The food is amazing, Alex and John are the managers and they clearly have their pHDs on how to run this business. The staff are beyond accommodating....Michael, Jay, Andre, Michael, Heather, John, Jeff....I could go on and on.
